RestockPal privacy policy
Effective October 18, 2026
This policy explains what the RestockPal app and its web pages collect, why, and the choices you have. RestockPal is made by MNS Industries LLC ("we", "us"), a New Jersey company. Questions: nick@mnsindustriesllc.com.
The short version
- You use RestockPal under a nickname. We don't ask for your name, email, or phone number.
- We use your town (not your live location) to show nearby stores and send alerts.
- Reports you post, including photos, are public to other RestockPal users.
- No ads, no tracking across other apps or websites, and we never sell or share your personal information.
- Delete your account anytime in the app: Me → Delete my account.
Information we collect

We don't collect contacts, browsing history, health data, or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no advertising or analytics trackers.
Amazon AutoBuy (optional)
If you set up AutoBuy, it runs on your own computer. Your Amazon sign-in stays in a browser on that computer, and the RestockPal app talks to it directly. We never receive your Amazon password, payment details, or order history.
What's public
Your nickname, badges, and the reports you post (including photos, tips, and the store) are visible to other RestockPal users and on share links that you or others create. Please don't put personal information or people in your reports or photos.
How we share information
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- With service providers that run RestockPal for us under contract, such as our hosting provider (Fly.io) and Apple (sign-in and notification delivery).
- If required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
- As part of a merger or sale of our business, with notice to you.
Store links and affiliate disclosure
Some "View online" links in RestockPal are affiliate links. If you tap one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you. The link tells the retailer the visit came from RestockPal; we don't send them your personal information. Once you're on a retailer's site or app, their privacy policy applies. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
How long we keep information
We keep your account information while your account exists. Sightings show in the live feed for about 3 days. We keep older reports to calculate restock patterns until you delete them or your account. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, including from backups. Restock patterns are combined counts that don't identify anyone and may be kept.
Your choices
- Notifications: turn alerts off anytime in iPhone Settings → RestockPal → Notifications.
- Location: "Use my location" is optional; you can pick your town from a list instead.
- Edit: change your nickname, town, alert distance, and checklist in the app.
- Delete: delete a report from its ⋯ menu, or your whole account in Me → Delete my account. You can also email us.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to: know what personal information we have about you and get a copy; correct it; delete it; and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or its use for targeted advertising or profiling. We don't sell, share for advertising, or profile, so there's nothing to opt out of, but we extend these rights to all users wherever they live.
To make a request, email nick@mnsindustriesllc.com with your RestockPal nickname. We may ask you to confirm the request from inside the app to verify it's you. An authorized agent can make a request for you with your written permission. We'll respond within 45 days, and we won't treat you differently for using your rights. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer; we'll respond to appeals within 60 days.
California notices
Notice at collection: the categories we collect are identifiers (account ID, nickname, Apple sign-in ID, notification token, IP address), approximate location (your town), precise location (used once and not stored, only if you choose), user content (reports and photos), and internet activity (requests to our servers). We use them for the purposes listed above and keep them as described in "How long we keep information". We don't collect sensitive personal information beyond the one-time location lookup you choose to make.
Shine the Light: we don't share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: RestockPal doesn't track you across other websites or apps and doesn't sell or share personal information, so these signals don't change how we handle your information. We honor them as opt-out requests anyway.
Children
RestockPal is for parents and other adults; you must be 18 or older to use it. It's not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), keep sign-in and notification keys secret, and limit who can access our systems. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep personal details out of your posts.
Where we operate
RestockPal is offered in the United States, and our servers are in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
